History Streak Play today

How to play

  1. You start with one event and its year. That's the first card on your timeline.
  2. A new event appears, without its year. Tap the gap where it belongs — before, after, or between the events on your timeline — then tap again to lock it in.
  3. Get it right and the year is revealed. The event joins your timeline, so every round there are more gaps to choose from.
  4. You have 45 seconds per event. One wrong placement or running out of time ends your run.

Place all 20 events for a perfect streak.

FAQ

When is there a new puzzle?
Every day at midnight UTC. Everyone in the world plays the same puzzle that day.
Can I play more than once a day?
Your first attempt at the daily puzzle is the one that counts. You can replay past puzzles as often as you like in practice mode; practice games don't count toward the leaderboard.
How is the leaderboard ranked?
By streak length. If two players have the same streak, the one who placed their events faster ranks higher.
What happens when the timer runs out?
Your run ends. If you had already selected a gap but hadn't locked it in, that choice is submitted for you.
Can two events be from the same year?
No — every event in a puzzle is from a different year, so there's always exactly one right gap.
How are dates before year 1 shown?
As BC, for example "44 BC".
Do I need an account?
No. You get a random nickname for the leaderboard, which you can change after your run.
Where can I see the answers?
Once a day is over, its full timeline appears in the archive.
I think a date is wrong.
